* Insertion of Page Margins *


In this chapter, let us learn how to insert Page Margins in Microsoft Word. A margin is a space separating the main content of a page from the edges of the paper. There are four types of margins, likely- the Top, Bottom, Left, and Right margins. When you create a new document in MS-Word, the default margins are one inch on all sides. However, it can be adjusted through the page setup. Now lets start:


⇨ How to setup Page Margins?

a) Click on Page Layout Tab in Microsoft Word 2003, 2007 etc.

*** Click on Layout Tab in Microsoft Word 2016.

b) click on Margins drop down from Page Setup group.





* There you can select predefined margins.

*** If you want custom margins, then you have to click on Custom Margins or Page Setup group icon. Both will open Page Setup dialog box.









c) Set the margins (top, bottom, left, right etc).





*** Here you can also select paper size.

d) Click on Paper Tab.

e) Click on Paper size combo box and set paper size (in most cases we need A4 paper size).

f) Click on ok.





⇨ How to set default Page Margin?

a) Click on Page Layout Tab in Microsoft Word 2003, 2007 etc.

*** Click on Layout Tab in Microsoft Word 2016.

b) Click on Margins drop down from Page Setup group.

c) Click on Normal. (This is the default page margins)
